If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

2 Chronicles 7:14 KJV

Prayer is the love language of God. It is where we gain strength, power, and peace through life. Prayer is a cleanser! Just as one keeps his physical body clean one must always keep the inner man clean. Daily prayer cleans and gets rid of negative attitudes and spiritual infections. It also has the power to activate things in the spiritual realm that is hidden to the natural eye. God's ways are so much higher than what our minds can comprehend.

The more you pray, the more you will desire to pray. The benefits such as excitement, intimacy, growth, and assurance that comes along with it is far too precious to lose due to complacency. The only way to overcome carnality is through prayer! If churches do not pray there will be strongholds set up in the church family. We must pray for the backslider, our communities, our nation and leaders. When you pray in the spirit, the spirit maketh intercession.

I remember a story Sis. Bobbye Wendell told us at a ladies conference years ago. She was at home praying for a church that she was going to minister to in the next few weeks. She went into a deep authoritative tongue. The night she spoke, a young Mexican boy came to the altar and cried out to God. As he would pray, he would cry that he did't want to die lost. Then a demonic voice would take over and remind him of all the wrong he had done. This boy ended up being filled with the holy ghost and delivered of the spirits that tormented him!

Later, after most had left, he came up to Sis. Wendell and thanked her for coming to the jail in Texas and inviting him. She told him that he must be mistaken for she had never been to the jail house. He told her that she had come several times to pray over him and told him the address of the church.God spoke to her and said months back when she prayed in her home, he sent her angel to the jail to invite the young man. When we pray in the spirit it allows God to move in ways we could never think of. When we pray over our communities there is no telling what the spirit does! It could save children from molestation! It could draw prodigals to a church! There is power in prayer!
